Five Ways To Clean Your Air Conditioner

 

AC is the most priceless possession in the summer if it works well. Unfortunately, this is not the story of most people as they feel agonized and stressed by the non-functionality of their ACs. Well, the unit might not be to blame if it's not working correctly. It may have more to do with how you clean you AC.

·         Turn off the power

The first step is to turn the power off. You need to ensure your safety, so shut off the power. 

·         Clean the fins 

The fins are crucial in an AC. The outdoor unit of an air conditioner has much delicate metal strips, which are called fins. With time, these fins and coils get clogged with dirt. So it would help if you wash it.

·         Wipe down the evaporator coil

After cleaning the outside unit, now you need to clean the inside portion. Take the panel off for access. First, vacuum the loose debris and gently run the vacuum hose over the evaporator coil. 

 

·         Clear out the drains

The next step to follow is to clear out the drains. You can wipe down the drain port where the tube connects to the system as well.

 

·         Wash or replace the filters 

If the need arises, the next thing to do is to replace the filters.  In case, the filter is dirty, your AC won't run its best so it’s good to replace it. Even it is favorable to save energy consumption by replacing it. If the replacement is not needed then you should wash it.
